Access Control

RFID technology has been successfully applied in providing access control solutions. RFID can provide an effective solution to grant access right of the object or person. RFID enabled tag can be installed on vehicle or carried by a person. The tag contains an unique identification number which has actual access permission. The reader is installed at the access control points for detecting movement of any objects.

Automatic Parking System:

In this application, a passive RFID tag is affixed to a vehicle for example, on the windshield or body that needs access to the parking facility. When the vehicle was driven up to the parking entrance, a reader reads the unique tag data on the tag and transmits it to an access central system. This system, depending on the access permission associated with the tag data, either grants or denies access to the parking area. If access is granted, the vehicle can be freely inside the parking area. If access is denied, the system triggers audio and visual alarm to alert operator to prohibit the vehicle inside the parking area.

Building Security System:

In this application, a passive RFID card is carried by a person (for example, staff card) that needs access to the building. When they enter any rooms which are secured by electronic lock, they have to put the staff card on the entrance reader to read their identity in order to grant access right. The central system will log all in and out activities of staff. If access is denied, the system triggers audio and visual alarm to alert operator.
