RFID Temperature Logger for Cold Chain Management

The ThermAssureRF temperature sensor is a credit card sized (portable), flexible, 100% water resistant, stand alone temperature recorder allowing you to easily monitor temperature fluctuations over time during shipment and storage of goods. Cable free operation offers easy and user-friendly wireless data retrieval.
It is a 4,000 point temperature data logger (-40°C to +70°C), its memory can be freely allocated to register temperature, information and ePC (Wal-Mart) 96-bit code. For instance, if a customer chooses to store 96 bits + 250 bits of extra info, that specific logger will register 3654 temperature. This benefit defines the ThermAssureRF as a smart-tag and as a true platform of traceability information.
The tags are working on passive RF and thus are compliant with FAA and FDA RFID requirements.
They can be kept for 2 years in inventory in a power conserving "sleep" mode until they are required. A simple push button system activates the tag to begin monitoring the contents of a refrigerated package. The tags are capable of receiving programmable temperature thresholds via 2 way RFID communication.
In the event of a temperature excursion (ex.: >10 minutes exposure > 8°C), the tag is programmed to display a warning light to the end user showing that an excursion point has been reached. ThermAssureRF system offers attractive price-performance options ranging from inexpensive, disposable to reusable specialty tags.
The handheld CertiScan reader is a 13.56MHz (HF) RFID scanner complete with backlit LCD and USB communications and is capable of complete wireless data download and display. ThermAssureRF tags are removed from the shipping container and scanned, or they may be scanned directly through the packaging material. The data from the handheld reader can be converted to a hardcopy by scanning or photocopying the LCD display or by downloading the data to a computer that is running the ThermAssureRF CertiScan software.
